Baritone/Euphonium
So...what's the difference between the two? Is it a baritone or a euphonium? This is something I get mixed up about ALL the time. Here's what I finally used to help me remember:
Baritone's tubing stays narrow and thin
It only flares out near the very end.
Euphonium has a little larger bell
And the tubing's like a cone, as you can tell.

Now that you've read that snazzy little rhyme, can you tell which horn is which?
Baritone and euphonium players usually also play trombone, and most trombone players also play baritone and/or euphonium.
Baritone and euphonium players read bass clef, treble clef, and moveable C clef.
These instruments are in the key of B-flat, which means if you don't push down any valves, you'll get pitches that are on the B-flat overtone series. What's an overtone series? Learn here!
The tube length for both of these instruments is 9 feet!
